Request for help! to remove a Trojan VaaaaaaaBaa.class

Hi,

I tried to clean my computer but this one is just not going away…

I am running windows XP Pro with Avast Anti Virus 4.7 Pro latest build Aug 2007 (4.7.1029)

I also use Adware SE and Xoftspy and Advanced SPyware remover Proffessional, reg seeker,…

I was running Adware SE and avast warning came up trojan found
C:\DOCUME~1\DEALER~1\LOCALS~1\Temp\AAWTMP\C194062\144D8\VaaaaaaaBaa.class

I moved it to the chest

I then turned off system restore, rebooted in safe mode and tried to run adware again while in safe mode… adware started to run and half way through shut down my computer…

I ran Avast in boottim mode and came back clean

That can;t be good I said to my self  and have been trying to figure out what this trojan is a how it got there and how to get rid of it …

any help would be greatly appriciated.

Gary

Forgot to mention my computer has been acting weird the date was advanced last week by 2 days… and some time msn messange icon just shows up in the system tray…and my volume muted itself…

That folder is where adaware is unpacking files that it wants to scan or its signature files, unfortunately avast intercepts these creations and scans it and if it finds a piece of adware/malware it will alert.

I have always paused avast’s standard shield whilst doing a scan with another security program for this very reason (no conflict) and it also stops duplication of scan by avast of files that adaware opens. This will reduce the overal scan duration.

Note that when adaware has finished its scan that folder is cleared, so outside of the adaware scan there would be nothing for avast to find, unless your avast scan checked archives, etc.

You want to switch off the word wrap on note pad it messes with log contents so they are broken over two or more lines.

Other than that I can’t see anything obvious in your log. I have no knowledge of these entries, I’m hoping you do.
