The additional rotating icon in Avast is a minor irritation on a fast machine, because it’s hard to catch when it’s operating to select “integrate with main Avast tray icon”.
There doesn’t seem to be an option to do this via settings.
Every time Avast upgrades, it defaults to a separate tray icon.
My system is relatively fast, the icon rotation however, is a constant speed, how do you mean it is a minor irritation ?
You can disable the rotation, Program Settings, Appearance, uncheck the Animate the icon when scanning.
Not entirely sure what you mean here, avast has two icons, the ‘a’ and ‘i’ icons which can be merged into the main ‘a’ icon (right click the ‘i’ icon and select Merge icons). Did you merge the icons ?
I merged the icons many, many update ago and that setting has been remembered for all program updates.
Just one other point - even with both icons merged - the VRDB icon will appear in the tray again and be animated when VRDB generation is in process - typically every 21 days.
