I am wondering if there could be a “white list” feature installed in Avast so that I could place users that Avast suspect into. This way I would not have to tell Avast to continue when I receive email from a person(s) that Avast suspects. Maybe that feature is there and I just don’t know where to look!
Ops! :o I place this suggestion in the wrong area! Sorry about that!
Whilst there is no individual email address exception, a whitelist for this purpose I feel is wrong.
It is too easy to forge the from email address, as is common with spam and infected mail as the email address is taken from the infected systems address book. So if someone you correspond with gets infected they or rather their infected system could be sending out either spam or infected email. So when it comes to checking email, trust no one, everything may not be what it seems.
However, even though you haven’t said it, I believe this is a Heuristic detection of a suspicious email. avast also tells you what is suspicious about the email, what did it say ?
If that is correct you can either tweak the Heuristic or Heuristic Advanced settings and or add the remote domain to the Heuristics, Permitted URLs list. Both of these options obviously carry an element of risk by not scanning something that may be infected.
