On 8/14/14 I received a text box message saying that I had no Avast Security. So, I attempted to renew online but I couldn’t for some reason. In fact, I couldn’t connect to the Internet. I then called Avast Tech Support and turned over control of my computer to him. My confirmation number was 15348332142. I was told that my computer contained too many unnecessary programs and that for around $119.00 Avast would clean up my system. I agreed. After 2 hours, I tried to log on and could not. I couldn’t even open “All Programs”. The normal items on the Start Menu were absent, including “My Computer” and “Help & Search”. The few items remaining on the Start Menu were not able to be opened. I called Tech Support back and spoke to another tech who attempted a fix but could not go beyond the blue screen that showed “Microsoft-Windows-XP”. I then had to have a computer repair company fix my compute for $159.00. It is now running. I renewed my Avast Security for one year and have been very happy with the protection but I feel I am owed a $119.00 refund from your company since I had to outsource the repair work for more money. I did submit my refund request on line a few weeks ago but never received a response. Many thanks.
