Hi all.
I tried to use the new Rescue Disk feature and after creation when i try to boot from the media where the Rescue Disk was created it says Missing operating system
Latest avast/Clean install.

Same here except built on Win xp. Built the usb version. :-\

I`m not being able to boot either…

I created both the USB and the CD. The USB doesn’t boot but the CD works fine. Looking at both in Windows Explorer it appears that both contain the same files . . .

It seems the boot sector of the drive is being corrupted by something during creation.

I am having this problem booting using a rescue USB. Just commenting here so I receive updates on this topic.

As i previously said, this must be a bootsector problem, and today i tried to write a new bootsector and it throws an error all the time, if i format the USB stick i can write it without problems, if i’m writing the Rescue Disk the problem arises again.

I wonder if anybody from avast team is aware of this problem ?

Mine is showing the same error: “Missing operational system” (USB). Definitively, not working now.

I’ve had the same issue when I created a DVD Rescue Disk and it also said Missing operating system on W8 with my G75VX notebook

PS. What the hell is going on Avast ???

I even tried on different machines with different USB sticks with the same result, when trying to modify the bootsector a message is displayed: BAD PARTITION TABLE

My father HP notebook can read the Avast Rescue Disk from DVD and not from USB and everything is working as I couldn’t understand why I couldn’t get mind to work.

A workaround will be to create a recent image everytime you need it, using the Create DVD option, and use a program like Ultra ISO to write the image to the disk, this way it will boot from the USB stick/disk without problems.
