No, it’s not a false sense, it’s security itself. So that it will decrease performance and, after all, the infection will be detected when the virus get active (if any). Just that the virus will be discovered after, if it becomes active, and the file could be at your computer, sleeping silently… some people are paranoid against this possibility.

In other words, me;)

I tend to leave the scanner on max because my computer can generally handle it. There is one computer I leave it on standard because the resources are limited.
