Resolved - Avast 6.0.1125 Pro update, but no webrep tab anymore.

Hi All,

I just updated my avast pro to the new build 6.0.1125, restarted, but notice there is no webrep tab in the additional settings tab any more ?

Am i missing something ?

Is this is all browsers or just one browser?

Try an Avast Repair:

  • Go to Control Panel > Add/Remove programs > Avast Antivirus.
  • Scroll down and choose Repair function in the pop-up window.
  • Reboot.

Let us know if this helps.

Hi,

Sorry what i meant was in the avast settings there is no webrep tab any more. I done a repair and restart but this made no difference.

The browsers obviously have no webrep radio button as there is no webrep in avast anymore.

I have notified the Avast Team about this and they should investigate this further. Someone should respond within this thread.

Can you give me more information about your machine (OS, other security software like firewall, other security real-time and on-demand software), etc.?

Which browsers did you test this problem out and what version were they?

hi again,

I didn’t test it with any browser, as it didn’t exist anymore in the avast settings as i already mentioned.

The update was done over the previous final version 6.0.1091.

I’m running a Toshiba laptop with windows 7 sp1 64 bit, 4gb of ram. No firewall turned on in windows, and no other antivirus or anti-malware software installed, i only use avast.

Anyway i have now cured the problem by doing an uninstall, restart, then install 6.0.1125 again, then restart. Now it all works fine again.

So it seems there may be an update problem somewhere anyway.

So you did a clean install and that fixed the problem? Good to know and glad to hear that it is resolved.
