Where can I find the latest version of aswar.exe on the official website? It says to always use the latest version but it just redirects me to the main avast page, and I can’t seem to find it there. The only place I can download it is through a link from Tech (thanks). Or did updates to avast antirooktit end? Thanks for any help.
The aswar.exe is I believe unrelated to the avast anti-rootkit scanner in the normal avast antivirus. There is no record of this file on my system.
So I think you are talking about a very old beta version of a stand alone application ?
This was used for testing before being incorporated into the main avast antivirus application and was never released as a regular stand alone anti-rootkit application.
So if you have avast 5.0.594 installed then you have the latest anti-rootkit module incorporated into avast.
Aswar.exe is another program by avast. I found it in a recent post by tech. He recommends it as part of the general cleaning procedure. Anyways, thank you DavidR for answering my question.
