[RESOLVED]: Avast Conflict With Ghost 10

Last night I went to run Ghost 10 to make a back up and once it had commenced it stated that that the slider was disabled because Disk Performance Counters were disabled and that I should run diskperf.exe -? to get info on enabling them.

After some Googling my general impression was that these counters are permanently enabled on Windows XP, so it didn’t make sense.

I started disabling programs one by one via task manager to see if I could find some conflicting program with no luck.

I then disabled all shields via the Avast icon in the task bar and found that Ghost worked correctly.

I then enabled the shields again and the problem returned.

So opened Avast and disabled the first shield (standard / file whatever it’s caleld) and tried Ghost 10 again and the problem was gone.

So it seems there is some conflict when running the standard shield and running Ghost 10.

I can post the exact message later when I get home if it’s needed.

Last time I ran a Ghost back up was on 17/7 and it did not get this error.

Tried that, didn’t work

See images of error when File Shield is enabled vs Normal operation when File Shield is disabled.

WinXP all updated
Ghost 10.
Avast 6.0.1203

Doh ! Put the two files in C:\Windows\System32 not C:\Windows\System32Drivers

It did work :), thanks.

You’re welcome…!
