Resolved: Avast free is outdated by one day and is not up to date yet

HI I am having some trouble with avast free this morning. When I turned on my computer and it got to the desktop I noticed that the orange ball was moving checking everything that was loading but then the orange ball in the lower taskbar would stop. So I double clicked on the orange ball and was brought into the UI of avast free. I noticed that the defs were outdated by one day 10/03/2012.
I also noticed that the defs version was still a light green color and it was not red. So then I decided to do an avast repair and so I went through programs and did a repair on avast free. Then I restarted my computer. After the reboot I re checked to see if things were updated and so far no success. I am still waiting for avast free to update to the lasted defs.

I was wanting to now is their anything I can do I should mention that I do not feel comfortable testing beta software so that option is out.

have a great day

There is an update problem … Service will be resumed as soon as possible

Thanks Essexboy for the reply

It was a consequence of a bad VPS update late yesterday that VPS was removed from the update servers whilst they formulated a fix. So there was a delay of several hours before this happened, during that time there were some experiencing anomalies in the UI reporting of what VPS was installed.

This fix has now been done and a new VPS version released 121004-0, it is now available for auto update or manual.

As of 5 or 10 minutes ago, I still hadn’t gotten an auto-update for the fixed version. So I tried a manual update check (from the icon-menu), and that got me 121004-0 just fine.
