HI I just wanted to let someone neow from avast that when I click on the settings tab and then on the update tab the connection: Connection Not established still is not connecting. I have a snapshot to show this clearly for you below:

Are you getting stream updates?
I received 90 in the last 24 hours.
Go to Statistics>component status.
There will no doubt be times when you view it and the connection may not be established. It is a bit like sitting watching an indicator light 50% of the time it will be off.
The main concern is that you are actually receiving streaming updates.
I rarely bother even checking the Update stats for connection not established, but do check on occasion the streaming updates. Even though mine is showing ‘connection not established’ I have received 134 in the last 24 hours. Now before you start, there is no way everyone’s 24hr period will show the same number received.
shows no connection here any time i look, but still getting vps updates with proper pop up and sound and also streaming updates. nothing to worry about. poss. minor glitch. NO PROBLEM.

HI I am receiving streaming updates no problem received 155 updates in the past 24 hours. I am also receiving definitions with no problems I just thought avast might want to now this so that avast can possibly fix this bug at some point. But everything is working fine though.
