Hello, I found a false positive, Avast has detected python-3.3.2.amd64.msi as a suspicious File. It lists in the popup Infection: Win32:Evo-gen [Susp] I was downloading the installer of Python to try and learn the language but got the popup…
http://python.org/download/ is where i downloaded it from.

When avast detects it, click on “report as false positive”.
The people from avast will have a look at it and correct things when/if needed.

Edit:
I just downloaded and scanned the file and avast doesn’t flag it as suspicious.
Make sure you have the latest version of both avast and the vps installed.

I am on the latest Avast VPS and version. I have Avast set to detect PUPs.
The one I downloaded that got the popup was “Python 3.3.2 Windows X86-64 MSI Installer (Windows AMD64 / Intel 64 / X86-64 binary [1] – does not include source)” and when its get close to getting done downloading the file fully thats when i get the popup… I mean the file is Python installer, Avast shouldn’t give a popup should it?

If your signature is correct (Avast Version: Avast free 8.0.1497) you are not using the latest version.
Latest version is 2014.9.0.2005

2014.9.0.2005 is the RC, When I said latest version I meant the latest stable version

Looks like avast fixed the False positive now. I went to download the same file today and it downloaded without any popups from avast
