[RESOLVED] HELP! Deleted Avast and cant get it back! =P

Hi!

I have an Avast Internet Security account with 9 months left. I tried to “update” this a week ago and all hades broke loose. It did not finalize the update for some reason and started locking up my entire sytem. So, I had to run a “System Restore”. Then Avast wouldn’t work at all. So, I uninstalled it. Now, I would like to reinstall 7.0 Internet Security. How can I do this successfully and without having to pay again? I have tried to download the full version… the trial version… to no avail.

Please, can some awesome and loving person, with knowledge on this subject, tell me how to do this?

  1. Download avast! Internet Security: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/avast_internet_security_setup.exe
  2. Follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility (Run this tool for all prior installed avast! versions…!!)
  3. Reinstall avast! with the downloaded installer from point 1.
  4. Reboot.

You forgot one thing asyn…
.insert licens that you got when you bought it…you did save that…did you?

Thanks Pondus.

@OP: In case you lost your license → http://www.avast.com/resend-license-paid.php

Yes, my awesome friends, I do have the license!
… and I even had one resent to my email via a link I saw in the forum.

So, is your problem solved…??

Yes!
All fixed!! Avast rules!
Thank you so much, my friend! (and friends!)
I had tried to download myself and couldnt… was I doing something wrong?

It depends on when you did the system restore and downloaded the trial version vs. the full version. You also had multiple versions on your machine, so this needed to be uninstalled and cleaned out.

In any case, the problem is now fixed and working again!

Please go back to your first post TITLE and write in front of the title “[RESOLVED]” to close the thread. We are very happy that you are pleased with Avast. Feel free to come back and browse to learn and ask questions any time. Thank you again.

You’re welcome.
