HI I was just wondering if I might have some adware or sypware or a virus on my computer because some times I get a blue screen just out of the blue I will be surfing the internet and all of a sudden I will get a blue screen on my computer. I just thought this might mean that I might have a virus or malware or spyware. Also my computer is a little bite slow so that is why I have these logs for essexboy check them out for me to see if I have anything on my computer and give me some help removing it if their is anything bad that is.

some info that might be helpful:

I should mention that I am only an intermediate user
Thanks

hi Diddy,

Notified essexboy. You may know the drill, a bit of time may pass before he enters your thread.

Not a great deal showing there, when the crashes occur is it a specific programme being used, or after a set time ?
Do you have any minidumps I could look at ?

Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

Run OTL

[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

Hi Esexboy I tried the fix with otl and otl started to do the fix unitil it got to firefox and then otl froze. What can I do to fix this.

Yes I do have one Minidump of a blue screen that did happen I will put it on here for you to look at.

Thanks Essexboy

Could you run a fresh OTL so that I can see where it got to

Also could you upload the last two or three minidumps from C:\Windows\Minidump\ to a file sharing site for me to collect

HI Essexboy what do you mean run a free otl I did run otl and it was going until it got to fix fox extensions and where Speedbit is in firefox file.
As fair as getting you a minidump from windows where would you like me to upload these mini dumps to explain please.

Thanks

Ps: how am I to complete otl if it freezes on me.

Thanks.

HI could you expain to me Essexboy where do I locate these mini dumps from windows at on c drive witch is my main drive. please explain I have not done this kind of thing before.

Thanks

HI when otl froze on me was when I put the fix in otl and pushed the fix button on otl and then it was going until it got to firefox and then otl froze it was not responding the only way I could get otl to go away was to end the task through Task manager. Then I restarted my computer.

Thanks

Minidump files will be at C:\Wiindows\minidump

Stop OTL via taskmanager and run a fresh quick scan so that I can see what it managed to achieve

HI Essexboy I did go into my c drive and into windows I did find a folder called mini dump but when I clicked on it it was empty.

Could you set windows to generate minidumps http://blog.nirsoft.net/2010/07/27/how-to-configure-windows-to-create-minidump-files-on-bsod/

Then run a fresh OTL scan and let me know what the current problems are

HI Essexboy I did a quick scan with otl here is the quick scan you asked for.

Thanks

Next time you get a crash could you send me the mindump file please

Hi Essexboy how do i send you the mini dump or should i just put it in this post. have not had any blue screens i thought what might cause the blue screens was the windows codec pack you told me to install i uninstalled that program and i have not had anymore blue screens since essexboy.
thanks

Dependant on the size you may need to upload to a file sharing site like mediafire

HI Essexboy I was going to ask how should I get rid of the speedbit toolbar and other stuff found my adwcleaner.
When you put in your fix to get rid of speedbit remember that otl froze on me when I was trying to run the fix that you gave me to put in otl. Please help let me now if otl fixed anything Essexboy

Thanks

OTL took them out before it froze, they were not in the updated log

HI Essexboy I was wondering if you have had a look at the last otl log I posted for you witch was a quick scan did otl get rid of anything at all like the speedbit toolbar and other stuff. Is their anything I can do to fix this and get rid of the adware that I have on my computer. Because remember when I did the last fix you posted otl froze when it got to firefox and Otl would not respond I had to end Otl and restart my computer. So I was just wondering if you could help me with that. I use Google chrome as my default at the time I was testing browsers to see witch one worked best for me and I decided to get rid of firefox and stick with Google Chrome instead.

Talk to you later Essexboy

Thanks Essex boy for your help.
talk to you later

The removal of FF should have killed the problem ;D
