I am wondering why is ThunderBird like only scanning e-mails that are outgoing, isn’t it suppose to scan incoming e-mail also? If you are wondering Yes i did did that certificate add thing in Thunderbird… I am testing the mail shield today seeing it would scan incoming e-mail that is coming from my yahoo e-mail that I sent an e-mail from to my Gmail e-mail which is ThunderBird is checking e-mail from. How do i get it to scan incoming instead of just scanning outgoing? (I’m sorry for sounding like a newbie here in this topic on the mail shield but its the real first time using it as last time i had avast installed I didn’t use Thunderbird.)
Would e-mail settings be the cause? I believe I set thunderbird to use my e-mail under IMAP? Does the mail shield require something like POP3 to be used for it to scan incoming e-mail or should IMAP be good enough? Like I said above I am totally confused on why avast is scanning my outgoing mail but fails to scan incoming mail?
have you tried avast repair to see if anything changes…
Just did the avast repair option when you mentioned it, restarted and results are avast still isn’t scanning incoming mail to thunderbird.
you know that you are still protected even if you dont get this to work?
Yes I know that.
Marking this as Resolved… Thanks Pondus
Edit: I just wanted to say I did a clean install of thunderbird and now avast shield is scanning outgoing and incoming mail… Weird that it took a reinstall of thunderbird huh?
computers work in mysterious ways. ;D
