I posted that I couldn’t access the gadget since I went from 5.1 beta to 6.0 AIS beta then upgraded to 6.0.1 AIS.
I was told to do a clean install since I went from beta to the final release of 6.0.1 Now I still don’t have the gadget and I can’t enter my AIS license number. I now get a message saying I am in a thirty day trial period. Is the license number enough or do I need to insert the entire license file? The license file is in Openoffice “ODF” format and openoffice.org servers are down till sometime this weekend. Secunia said my version of openoffice was “end of life” so I uninstalled to install the latest version now they are in the process of switching out servers. Or could I download 6.0.1 free then insert license number?
Did you try enabling the avast! Gadget via Control Panel > Appearance and Personalization > Desktop Gadgets?
The license for AIS should be in .avastlic format. Try renaming it to License.avastlic to see if that resolves the issue. Inserting the license file into avast! Internet Security
I found it with no problem. I had a brain lapse (I had to keep it clean).
