Installed Avast AV Pro "Trial v.5.677 2 days ago and absolutely no problems. Went to do a quick scan last night and 5 seconds into the scan I received the ERROR MESSAGE "The Memory could not be “read”.Option was to click close to exit program or Cancel to debug program. I clicked cancel and GUI turned Red on top stating “Avast anti virus has been stopped, or is in an inconsistant state”.I click FIX NOW and Avast seems to reset itself and returns to Normal Green GUI. Try the scan again and Avast repeats same error…Happens in Quick or Full scan Mmmm ???
Waited for update this morning thinking it was maybe a glitch but same issue when I went to scan again this AM.
Any help greatly appreciated…thought of clean uninstall and reinstall but figures I’d wait for experienced direction first.

Well waited a couple of hours without reply…so went ahead and did a Clean Uninstall from Add and Remove…then booted into Safe Mode…fan Avast Cleanup Tool(don’t know if that was necessary)…rebooted and did a Reinstall… Everything working fine now. I am doing a Quick Scan presently on my Laptop and all is proceeding as before the error message.
Still have no idea what happened ??? Oh well it all good now ![]()
