Restart needed after Update

Hello,

everytime avast updates something more than the vps file. For instance last Thursday or before from version 4.6 to 4.7 I need to restart my pc. OK I do, but then when I connect to the internet I need to restart again and so on. I only get out of this circle, when I download from the server the new version and update via the new file. After the restart I am never asked again, only a new version is available… :wink:

Does somebody have had the same “problem”?

I am running win2k.

Operating system restart needed by avast message could be solved, in some systems, by deleting the file C:\Program Files\Alwil Software\Avast4\Setup\reboot.txt if it exists.

Do that and let us know the outcome.

Before doing anything it’s always wise to check the contens of the setup.log file, which should show you why it thinks the reboot is needed.
