Keep in mind you can simply remove any providers you’re not likely to be using, via Add-Remove/Change – I have no use for the Outlook or P2P providers, for instance. They can be added back later if you ever do acquire a need for them, the same way.

It’s rare that I’ll want to shut down all providers, more typically I’ll just pause the Standard shield for some operations. But if I ever do shut-down-and-exit, I know that when I restart the providers, all of them (that are active for me) can be done in one step.
