How can i restore the icon on the task bar?
I transfer it to recycle bin and i wanted it back but the recycle bin is empty now.
I had read some thread about it but i don’t know how to do it.
It says about ashDisp.exe but i don’t what will i do when i get there.
Can help me fix this step by step, on where to go? what to click?
I am using Windows Xp.
Hope some one can help me .

Try a repair of avast. Add Remove programs, select ‘avast! Anti-Virus,’ click the Change/Remove button and scroll down to Repair, click next and follow.

The only other thing i would do is to uninstall avast and Reinstall.
Here is a link to how to uninstall: http://www.avast.com/eng/faq-installation-problems.html
Or if you prefer you could wait to someone with a lot more experience than me comes along, who will give better advice than me.

When you say “I transferred it to the recycle bin…” what exactly did you do?
Is the taskbar set to hide inactive icons? (Right click the bottom taskbar. Select “properties”. Try removing the tick, click “apply” or OK.)

So what did you do exactly, “it didn’t show up the Repair” doesn’t tell us anything as we don’t know exactly what you did.
You may now have to do a clean reinstall as has been suggested.

I right click the the a ball and transfer ( it is written in portuguese as EXCLUIR or to exclude) it to recycle bin. The ball was located in the left side of the clock.

Hi gustosa
When you click on Avast, click using the left button of your mouse, like you are uninstalling Avast.
A menu will show up asking you if you want to
Change or Uninstall, also update and last is “Repair”
Click repair.
EDIT Sorry for jumping in here DavidR

No problem, your closer to gustosa’s time zone so he won’t have to wait for me to wake up ;D
Your answer correctly identifies an incorrect action by gustosa and should put him on the right track.
