After today’s Avast update, I also got the Win32: Delf-MZG alert on almost everything on my machine. Initially I was putting things into the Avast Chest before I realized something’s not right. So I tried to click Restore to put the items that were in the Chest back where they belong so my machine would be usable again, but they still appear in my Chest even though I got a message that the Restore was successful. Am I doing something wrong or is this a flaw with Avast because of this mess?
Any item that I had renamed and put in the Chest has been corrupted…like my firewall (REALLY unhappy!).
I’m running MBAM and using another PC since I have disabled Avast until a fix is done, and I have to reinstall my firewall. Thanks.
I had the same problem. The files in the chest were staying in there.
However, I checked to see if some of the files had actually been restored to their original locations, and they had. Check to see if some of the files you restored are in their original locations.
Same here. I had quarantined my Hostsman program. Restoring it left the reference in the chest, but when I double clicked the icon Hostsman ran, apparently normally.
Vlk, I know that you are probably really busy right now, but after I restore an innocent file from the Chest can I then delete the file from the Chest? It seems that would save space.
