Would appreciate some help. I do not get any viruses after I run a full scan with the above (my system runs Windows Vista Ultimate). However, after a boot scan, I am told that there are 14 threats in the Apps\LocalLow\java\sun\Deployment\cache\6.0\ … folders. From what I have googled, some of these files could have been left over from previous applications but could pose a security threat. My question is should I transfer them to the Virus chest and then delete them there or are they just false positives and should be left alone? The image of my scan log after the boot scan is attached (hopefully, they are attached but I do not see them under Preview even though I have inserted the path to upload under Browse). Thanks a bunch.
I would clean Java cache.
If any of that files are kept, then move to Chest.
Welcome to avast forums.
They are just cache files.
I suggest you delete the entire content of the 6.0 folder.
Java will get them again when needed.
most of them are java exploits…
I had something like this wrong with my java folder too. I only had two though. What are java exploits? I deleted them, should I just delete the whole 6.0 folder?
@ flodefence,
No. You have a different problem. Please see your thread http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=77718.15. Thank you.
