Results of scan

Hi, I hope I’ve posted in the right section this time. I’ve just carried out a standard scan with Avast! 4.8.1201 and the results showed 2 files that it was unable to scan. One looked like it could be a registry key, the other was a backup of some sort. My query is how do I investigate further since the FULL path is not shown, and there doesn’t seem to be any way of expanding it - no right click option etc. Neither of these show up in the log viewer. I took a screen shot of the results window just in case.

Regards.

The full path is there but the column needs to be expanded.

Files that can’t be scanned are just that, not an indication they are suspicious/infected, just unable to be scanned.

You don’t say why the files can’t be scanned as this is also given in the report, commonly password protected, etc.

See http://forum.avast.com/index.php?topic=35347.msg297170#msg297170 this topic for more information on why files can’t be scanned.

Thanks for the reply and the helpful link. I’ve expanded the reports and they appear to be quarantines related to SUPERAntiSpyware which I installed and ran the other day. They can’t be scanned as they are password protected.

I have read other posts about this so doesn’t seem to be anything to worry about.

Regards.

Yes, don’t worry

You’re welcome, yes, nothing to worry about.
