when clicking on my “score”, and then clicking on the “influencer” badge… it seems you cant recommend avast using Google. an error message reports that what ever control is being used for avast’s embedded browser is no longer supported. it then points you towards download links for all the major leading browsers (Chrome/Firefox/IE/Safari).

I have also had problems collecting my rewards for being a long term member using Avast!. a short time ago my free license required renewal, and avast offered me a nice loyalty discount. however, the page wouldn’t inside the embedded browser, and i lost out on my discount. this was not the first time. I double checked and triple checked that my third party firewall and any other security related tools were not restricting any required functionality. it’s not outside of the realm of possibility that something was conflicting… but as far as I can tell, Avast… it’s services… graphic user interface executable’s and any related binaries related to the Avast package have been completely white-listed and are not filtered in any way.

As has been explained many time, no rewards are given as long as the reward system is in Beta.

thanks for the information, and the link to the proper forum for reporting issues.

I had no idea that the rewards service was in beta. the tiny beta icon isn’t exactly a dead give away.

and where exactly does it say that no rewards are given? it’s not that i don’t believe you…

but if you are suggesting that it has been explained here, obscured in the avast forum, that which most of the X million avast users will never use)… then I expect that is why it has had to have been explained so many times…

and does this include the loyalty reward that doesn’t load for me? you would think they would say in plain English that the loyalty rewards they keep trying to give me are no good until this feature comes out of beta.

why aren’t beta features (especially ones like this…) opt-in?
