When I perform a right-click scan on files and directories, at the end of the scan the main Avast UI opens on my desktop to tell me everything is OK. Previously, the output of the right-click scan was simply the little pop up window at the bottom right of the screen. Well, I would like to know if I can indeed have only the little pop up window when performing the right-click scan on files and directories.
Well I get both (on my win10 system with avast 19.4.2374) the AvastUI open and the little toaster pop up.
This would appear to be the norm now as to reach the details of the scan you end up having to go through the UI to check the Scan History.
This is a pain in the backside, the old way was most certainly the best, if anything was found you got an Alert, if nothing was found you got nothing. This was I believe the name of the file was called ashQuick.exe
Well this is still screwed in old versions of Avast (under XP), the toaster pops up despite nothing having been found. If no issues are found, why the hell would anyone want to see the details, which has to open the main UI.
Total waste of time, no detections, no need for the popup of any sort.
Well they were promising to update the last XP version (once they got avast 19 properly out of the door) to get it to a bulletproof state and this is just one of several issues and why I can’t go beyond 18.5.2342.
There was also the likelihood of up to two (security based) updates, but I’m not holding my breath.
