Right click scan - nothing happens

I just registered on the forum because I couldn’t find a solution to my problem with the search function.

So… when I right click scan a file/folder the scan window does pop up but nothing happens. The scan is instantly completed, run time is 0:00:00, tested files/folders is 0 and amount of data tested is also 0 bytes.

Here’s a pic:

Oh yeah, this scan did work the first few weeks after installation!

Hi Pegart,

Lets start with trying a repair of avast! to ensure it is running properly:

Open Control Panel
Choose Add/Remove Programs
Click on Avast
Scroll down the list and Choose Repair

Then reboot your computer.

Best,
Adam

Didn’t you put the “ADSL Downloads” folder into the list of exclusions, for example?

Nope, I didn’t. Don’t have any exclusions set at all.

Did it. It didn’t help. :-\

Great support I must say ::). I thought posting in the forums would be smarter as other people could solve similar problems but guess I was wrong as there’s no response from you guys. So, now, I’m migrating to another provider. It’s a pity, I think Avast! is one of the best free solutions out there. Well, I should say I thought, because I don’t anymore. And I’m probably not the only one there. Goodbye!

Pegart,

You don’t say what product of Avast you use. If you have a paid version of Avast (Pro or AIS), you can submit a technical ticket anytime here: https://support.avast.com/.

Unfortunately I did not see your original post to assist you at that time. But I do hope you will continue to give Avast a try, esp. with a new version coming out in a month or so (v.5.1).

Please let me know if there is anything else I can do to assist you. Thank you.
