Right click scan on desktop icons doesn't work?

I try to scan some desktop stuff but I can’t. Nothing shows up. Is this a glitch or what?

So what happens…? Do you get any error…?

Nothing happens at all when I right click and click scan on the file. I’ve tried other files as well and nothing seems to happen. Nothing appears.

I see my full system scan and 2 quick scans.

Did it work before, or did it never work…?

I’ve just recently reinstalled Avast, and a year ago it use to work.

Click on Settings - Is the last box checked…?
If so, uncheck it and try again.

I unchecked it and it still doesn’t work. Could it be the fact that whenever i boot up my comp, i have to allow Avast to run as administrator all the time?

Try to reboot and see, if it works then.

Rebooted, still doesn’t work. I use Windows Vista x64.

  1. Download avast here:
    avast! 5.x Free Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_free.exe
    avast! 5.x Pro Antivirus: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_pro.exe
    avast! 5.x Internet Security: http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_ais.exe
  2. Go here and follow instructions: http://www.avast.com/uninstall-utility
  3. Reinstall avast.
    Solved now…??
