How can I remove the right click support? Right click “files” menu which provides to scan the selected file. How can I remove it?
start>explorer>winnt>sendto
See http://forum.avast.com/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=1647;start=0
Search for context menu and you will see:
llExtensionIcon=0
If 0, will turn off displaying of the icon next to the avast item in the Explorer context menu; To show = 1
I did not understand what Fast means… :
I’m sorry, as I understood it, he doesn’t want to remove just the icon, but the whole entry itself.
Am I correct ? ???
Drazik,
I think you need to try and explain what you want a bit better.
I also do not clearly understand what you want to “disable”.
Techie
it’s simple.
When I right click a file I have an entry wich prupose to scan the specific file. I don’t want it. How can I remove this explorer integration?
The solution wich has been written isn’t working.
This is what he wants to remove… see attachment.
Drazick, anyway… why would you like to remove that feature ? It won’t be on your way if you don’t want to use it…
Believe me, it’s very very useful sometimes and it’s a real shortcut if you want to scan some file in your folders…
Cheers !
Exactly what craftec pointed.
I want to remove because it gets irritating when I right click long name files.
I suggested this feature to be a Context menu (like WinZIP’s context menu) with 3 other options.
It would also eliminate long filename problems.
So, How can I eliminate this context menu?
Can you edit the registry? (Read: how computer-proficient are you? :))
Yes I do
Then, you can remove the avast! context menu extension by removing the avast entry from
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT*\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
and
HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Folder\shellex\ContextMenuHandlers
