I’m testing Avast Enpoint Protection Suite Plus at the moment. I want to rollout the Software Updater with the managed Setup, but this component is not listed in the Console → Administrator → Components.
I can install the Software Updater on the client manually, but this is not what i want. So my question: Is there a way to add the Software Updater to the managed setup?
As far as i know the updater is not available in the business version, not sure if there are plans to release it either…
personally as enterprise administrator i would not use the software updater to auto update programs on my computers in my network. It posses a thread for change management and control. U need to test new versions of software before having them updated…
The software updater is not available in the managed package setup, this is intentional. wpn explains it correctly, we were thinking about not including the SU in the business version at all, but then we decided it might make sense for SOHO customers with only a few PCs.
There are two ways to get the SU in the business product:
Use add/remove programs on an already installed endpoint to modify the installation, this one could have come from an installer package generated in the console
