I noticed my boot time was slowing and there were some errors/black screens during startup. I had MSE installed but installed AVASt in its placew. MSE said my computer was clean but AVAST has said there were 141 infections of a Root Kit. Ive followed a general guide on how to remove a standard one however im not sure on any of the specifics. Any help would be appreciated.

Boot time has improved, although with my graphics card (up do date drivers) i still have a period of black screen right up till i log in. It does however not occur when i use the on board graphics card. I’ve reseated the graphics card and reinstalled all the latest drivers. Is it the root key causing this problem or a hardware error>?
It may be hardware, but first roll back the video driver and see if that helps
Go start > run
Type in : devmgmt.msc
This will open device manager
Locate your video card
Right click and select properties
Select the driver tab
Select roll back driver
Download Speedfan and install it.
Once it’s installed, run the program and post here the information it shows.
The information I want you to post is the stuff that is circled in the example picture I have attached.
If you are running on a vista machine, please go to where you installed the program and run the program as administrator.
Also whenever i try and shutdown my computer it stops shutting down at a screen saying something along the lines of ‘wait for update do not power off’.
