Rootkit problem, may or may not be gone.

Avast alerted me that there was a rootkit running in the backround today and prompted me to delete it and do a bootscan, which I did.

Bootscan came back clean, as did a scan with both MBAM and SAS. However, since I hear these things can be sneaky, I followed the guide here and did a scan with OTL and aswMBR to be sure. It looks like something is still there…but I’m not sure since I am, obviously, not the expert.

Attached are the OTL and aswMBR logs.

And the other.

Hi that looks OK - are you experiencing any problems ?

Nope. Everything appears to be in working order.

So aswMBR had a false alarm?
The IRP_MJ_Create was in red so it sort of worried me.

It may have been related to Daemon tools, that programme is always a pain

Ah, yeah I have Daemon tools installed so that must be it.
Thank you for the peace of mind. =)

No problem - run OTL and hit the cleanup button to remove it, just delete aswMBR from the desktop ;D
