Hello!
Yesterday I was doing my stuff and suddenly Avast showed me the warning about having an ROOTKIT. Told me to delete it so I did, he restarted the laptop, started boot scan and then came back and warning was still there, I decided to scan laptop again and he was still detecting this rootkit. Everytime I wanted to remove it, there was an error or access denied, I couldn’t even put it to quarantine or he wanted me to restart the laptop like before. So I’ve decided to scan my laptop with Malwarebytes Anti-Malware (also Anti-Rootkit) and many, many other programs and also AVG and they found nothing. Also I’ve checked my laptop by ComboFix and nothing. Avast is still doing the same.
I’ve decided to check google and many people had the same problem, that it’s probably false positive, but I wanna be sure for 100%, so I’ve decided to write. Overall my laptop doesn’t have problems, there’s nothing unusual. I can’t complain about nothing.
This “rootkit” is in Program Files\PC Connectivity Solution and it’s called ServiceLayer.exe
So, is it false positive and there’s nothing to be worry about or it is really a virus that couldn’t be found by other programs and that avast
can’t remove?
