Is there a specific rootkit scanner that works well with Avast? I know that AVG has one, but I just wonder if there are any issues with conflicts between the different AV programs.
Or since the rootkit scanner is not a resident protection type program (right?), is this not an issue?
Does Alwil have any plans to release one?

I use both AVG and Panda anti-rootkit scanners. Neither conflict with Avast, since as you say, they aren’t resident anti-virus programs. Both these and others can be downloaded from:

No idea re Avast plans for one.
Try these as they are some of the more efficient and user friendly anti-rootkit tools.
