Rootkit virus?

Ty, please do confirm that is possible

Dotnet is used by a lot of programmes so the removal of this may break one. What I will do is put it in a quarantine just in case

Warning This fix is only relevant for this system and no other, using on another computer may cause problems

Be advised that when the fix commences it will shut down all running processes and you may lose the desktop and icons, they will return on reboot

Run OTL

[*]Under the Custom Scans/Fixes box at the bottom, paste in the following

Hey
Heres again quickscan log, it again stopped for while at NativeImages if that has anything to do with it.

No it is just that folder is rather large

CAn you run a quick scan now to see if it has gone

Avast quick scan? althouth it dosent look rootkits that good, it still takes time…

OK run the computer as normal for a day or so and if all is well let me know

Its propably so that if scan checks rootkins fast, it dosen’t play attention on that folder, but if rootkins are checked closely then its detected. But lets get back on this later

Quickscan didn’t found viruses, it could not check the NativeImage file because of somekind of error.

The basic rootkit scan looks for active elements which are the ones we are concerned with

Other files, which may be hidden for a legitimate programme, are only searched for on a full scan

Hey
Yep computer have been running nice today, running full scan atm and it found yet again 1 file, ill let you know what it is

And fullscan found the same infected file and was unavailable to move it to quarantine. When scanning the assembly folder, the file could not be scanned because of device error.

OK I would put that on the ignore list, the file is not in use and is part of the dotnet framework

You can uninstall dotnet and then install a fresh copy

Ok sure, could you hint how to add it to ingnore and what actually is dotnet?

Dotnet enables programmers to make their programmes smaller by using already installed element on the system http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dotnet_framework

Add the following folder as an exclusion

C:\Windows\assembly

Ty for advice essexboy, scan now dosen’t pay attention to assembly folder and I got updated dotNet

Wait for a week or so and then remove the exception for the assembly folder to see if it is corrected. Any further problems ?

Not that I know atm

In that case methinks I will tidy up

Subject to no further problems

I will remove my tools now and give some recommendations, but, I would like you to run for 24 hours or so and come back if you have any problems

Now the best part of the day ----- Your log now appears clean

A good workman always cleans up after himself so…The following will implement some cleanup procedures as well as reset System Restore points:

Run AdwCleaner and select Uninstall

Delete JRT from the desktop

Run OTL and hit the cleanup button. It will remove all the programmes we have used plus itself.

Clear Restore Points

Go Start > All Programmes > Accessories > System tools
Right click Disc Cleanup and select run as administrator
When it pops up at the first prompt select OK after it has done some calculations the tabs will appear
Select More Options tab
Press Sytem Restore and Shadow Copies Cleanup button
