Just wanted to ask do any of you use routers, what are their advantages and problems. Thinking of getting one, would value what others have to say. Thanks. 
I use a linksys router/gateway and it runs great. The router comes with a built in hardware firewall, and also acts like a switch (so I dont need to buy one :).
Pro:
Routers (depending on the quality of the one you buy) can do TONS of stuff.
Hardware firewall.
Cons:
The ONLY problem I have had with mine is having to forward ports (easy).
I use a smoothwall linux box.
