The resident protection doesn’t start. When I click on the icon in the tray (that with an ‘A’) this error message came:
“The sub-system AAVM detected a RPC error.”
What is happen? It could be a virus?
I use Win2k, but I have already aplied the microsoft path. Before the virus lovsan (teekids.exe) and removed. But my computer still has a strange behavior, like svchost.exe and iexplorer.exe errors.
What should I do to activate the resident protection?
Sometimes, RPC erros are solved just by uninstalling, boot and installing avast! again. But you must check if the RPC service is set to start automatically with Windows.
Yes, the Avast antivirus service is running. When I restart the service, the resident protection turns normal. But I only can do this like adm. My computer is used by my parents and brothers, each one with your account. There is no way to start the service automatically (the windows shows the service like automatic start-up)?
I already tried to reinstall the program.
Thanks.
What service are you talking about? The avast! one or the RPC?
Both of them can be set to automatically start at Administrative Tools > Services. Choose the services, right click and choose Properties… Choose the startup option…
