RPC ERROR

I tried to follow instructions in email to install my new license key. Downloaded the 5 version of avast. Key did not work. I did a system restore to get back to Avast 4 version and inserted new license and it accepted it, but Avast would not run due to a RPC error. I tried to reload application, it wouldn’t reload. I tried to uninstall, but it wouldn’t uninstall. I have a new license key for Avast 4 professional.

What do I do now? I paid for a license key and my Avast virus protection is ready to expire!

You shouldn’t use system restore when you don’t have to, that is asking for trouble :-\ Let’s see what we can do :

Download and use the Avast! Uninstall Utility using this tutorial :

Download a fresh copy of Avast 5 Pro from here :
http://files.avast.com/iavs5x/setup_av_pro_eng.exe
and install it.

Than in Avast! 5 go to Maintenance -Subscription and click the " Request conversion to v5 licence file " button that should open this link :
http://www.avast.com/resend-license.php
( If not you can use this link instead )

Fill in the form with the SAME email address you used when you bought your Avast Pro and you licence key, and a licence file will be send to you.

In Avast! 5 go to Maintenance - Subscription and click the " Insert licence file " button to browse for the licence file and execute it.

Of course you can ask, but unless you have purchased a license you won’t get anyone in these forums to give you one ?

So if you have purchased avast 5 pro, what is the problem with your license file
