"RPC failure"

Hi, everybody!

Everytime I try to send a Trojan to the Chest appears a message telling that there’s a RPC failure and the quarantine server doesn’t work ("…It’s impossible processing the archive ´C:\Programs Archives\Common Files\Companion Wizard\WapCHK.dll´, or anything like that…) I tried run Windows Update, and installing avast again, and I don’t know what else I can do… May I delete the Trojan?

Name of the archive: Win32: Trojan-gen.

Can anybody help me? Thanks a lot.

Which is the size of the file that you’re trying to send to Chest?
Did you have any other antivirus in this computer before avast? How did you uninstall it?
If you check this file upon on-line scanners like Jotti or VirusTotal, what do you get?

Hi, Tech!

I don’t remember the size of the file but, anyway, I lost my patience and deleted it… But another one appeared, a dialer called Win32:Dialer-567 [Trj], 148 Kb… I cannot send it to the Chest still. Before I install avast I had an AVG, installed as every program (control panel - add/remove programs…). After that, I used cleaner…

Please, schedule a Boot Time Scan:

Click on the Menu button.
Choose Schedule Boot Time Scan.
Doing so displays a dialog allowing you to schedule virus scanning.
Check Archives, if you want scan all the archives.
Specify whether all the disks or just a specific folder should be scanned.
Select Advanced options for scheduling details.
Select how to automatically process infected files.
Choose how to automatically process infected system files.
Click the Schedule button to confirm the settings.

If infected files are found, it’s safer to send them to Chest instead of deleting them.
This way you can further analysis them.

Access denied means, generally, that the file is in use by another process (program) and cannot be repaired/cleaned/moved/handled by avast!
The report file is created automatically in \Data\Report\aswBoot.tx
