Just a doubt.

Do I need to worry about Bots as I already have Avast installed?

Well, any antimalware tool should be against that nasties. avast is not an exception.

The thing I found out is that this tool installed with it WinPcap tool

http://www.winpcap.org/

It is used to capture and transmit network packets.

I was wondering if that kind of mechanism is there in Avast to catch bots?

I dunno much, I am asking to learn.
