I have Windows XP Home OEM on Intel P3 800 and have just downloaded and installed Avast and ran scan at start up. It found 3 Viruses - W32 Trojan Jen, W32 Jeet and Stonehenge on it. At reboot the Avast would not run even though I deleted the files that wer einfected since they were only temp files. Now I get the following error message:
Windows cannot find C:|Program Files\Spybot-Seach & Destroy/SpybotSD.exe
I get the same error message or another containing cannot find rundll32 and nothing in my programs group will now open. :cry:

Looks like you did not only removed temp files. Try this:

start > run > cmd > sfc /scannow

Let the sfc (system file checker) put back the missing system files.

AND run the Cleaner from www.avast.com
to repair the EXEfile-associations

I have already tried to run sfc/scannow and get the same error both in Normal and Safe mode. Any more ideas would be appreciated
