Running an On-Demand task while offline?

(Yes, I realize an offline On-Demand task is a bit of an oxymoron.

We’ve been running Avast SBS Suite on our network for nearly a year, but another person did the initial install and configuration, and I’m still learning the ropes and tweaking/fixing his setup…

I want to force all machines on our network to run a boot-time virus scan once a week. This is trivial for our servers and workstations, but after a test, I realized that machines must actually be on the network within the Scheduling/Processing intervals to receive the On-Demand instructions. Is there any technique to pre-program asks. For example

  1. Monday: user’s laptop receives a task to run a boot-time scan anywhere between 0:00 Saturday and 6:00 Monday.
  2. Friday: user takes laptop home and leaves it powered-off
  3. Sunday: user powers-up laptop, and without needing a VPN connection to the office LAN, the boot-time virus scan begins

Is there some technique to achieve this? Thanks.

Well, I found the sched.exe and aswcmd.exe executables, but am not sure they (or Windows’ Scheduled Tasks) are flexible enough to potentially delay a scan over several days. There’s probably a freeware scheduler out there that could do the job.

BUT this seems like unnecessary work, and if there is a way to schedule this remotely through the ADNM I’d appreciate getting some feedback. Thanks.
