Running Avast in the Background

Hi,

I’m new in the Mac world so it might be ignorant question.
After Installing Avast, should I always keep it open in the “open app” part in the Dock or is it open
In the background automatically like in windows?
when quitting the app I can see that the indicator under the Icon in the Dock is disappearing.

All the shields run in the background like on Windows.

So when I’m quitting the app i shouldn’t be worry that its not running? even if there is no Indicator light under the app Icon?

You have an avast icon on the top bar.
