Hello to all and Happy Christmas

Irish computer disaster here again ,

I had to to do a restore system (sorry I am living in France so I have to translate everything ) because I downloaded and used driverchecker .However driverchecker wanted me to install cyberdyfender which I don’t need as I avast pro and malwarebytes pro .I updated my drivers but had no sound .I did a system restore but now if I want to get rid of a programme I get this reply
Runtime error 216 at 5000CA9A

google that error 216 is a trojan but I have done boot time scan and malwarebytes scan and everything is ok

According to Microsoft, the results you got applies to :

Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01
Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0
Microsoft Windows Millennium Edition
Microsoft Windows 98 Standard Edition

… and you are using XP … though I am sure other Windows OSes can be affected.

Did you uninstall driverchecker? Whether you did or not, there are probably bad registry entries that are causing the problem. Try using a registry cleaner to remove invalid registry entries.

hello charly0 sorry for noy getting back sooner I’m running xp3 , have scanned with avast pro and malwarebytes pro also ran ccleaner and everything seems to be Ok

Try using TweakNow Regcleaner Free at the link below and see if it finds any old registry entries that need removing. It can remove them for you.
