“What ‘Ask’ Toolbar? I don’t remember installing that!”

I never got the point of these utterly useless toolbars. I mean, why the hell would i want some stupid additional toolbar if all browsers already have their own search field or they proide that directly from the address bar. It’s like fitting a 5th wheel on a car. Absolutely pointless.
And people are complaining about a little ad in avast ???
Bob, before the “little ad” we were happier…
I’m just as happy now.
The little ad didn’t leave any lasting effects on me. ;D

I never saw the Ask Toolbar try to install when updating to Java SE 7 on my systems:

Back on topic…
What I have to ask quite often: Do you need Java at all…??
Many have it installed, but never ever use it. Hint…!!! ;D
I updated through the auto-update notification and there was no Ask Toolbar
involved at all.

More and more things are including either the Ask toolbar, Google toolbar, or Bing bar. While they are harmless and some people may like them, I never accept any of them.
As far as Java goes, I would say that yes, you do need it. It doesn’t get used often these days but can prove useful.
There’s a big difference between the Ask Toolbar and the other two mentioned.

There used to be but it’s just as safe as the others now.
