safari and google s chrome gain browser market share !!!

 safari chrome has gain browser market share.http://www.macworld.com/article/137084/2008/11/safari.html what are your comments about this news ;D thanks!!!

Hi samuelvirucide

GoogleChrome will be heavily pushed by Google from the time it comes out of beta, will come pre-installed with various OEM’s. GoogleChrome has certain privacy issues for users, therefore a better alternative is GoogleChrome without these e.g. SRWare Iron browser.

So I will stay with my new version of this SRWare Iron browser, the Chrome look-alike without the negative privacy implications of the original one. Download the latest version of the Installer for Vista/XP from here: http://www.srware.net/downloads/srware_iron.exe

SRWare Iron: The Browser of the future

Until Google Chrome gains:

  • mouse gestures (like FireGestures)
  • bookmarks synchronization (like Foxmarks in Firefox)
  • GMail integration (like GMail Notifier in Firefox)
  • ads blocking (like AdBlock Plus)

It’ pretty much useless even if it’s fast as rocket. Safari is ugly and useless most of the time (Windows platform).

I just do not use mouse gestures but only the others. I share this opinion: Chrome has very poor configurability.

I’m another that doesn’t use mouse gestures so that isn’t critical, but my very short trial of chrome was a pitiful experience. A total lack of custom configuration like firefox, add-ons, what add-ons, myself unlike polonus wasn’t overly concerned, speed was great but the experience was terrible.

It didn’t survive the day, the uninstall was pathetic left tons behind, still way to early in the development, how can a beta steal market share, people are just trying it for all the marketing hype google put into its ‘Beta’ release. If that is an example of the marketing hype for a beta god help us when it goes RC and finally Gold.

There is still much work before I would be convinced, certainly much more than all the hype.

Edit: having just read the other MacWorld hype, I personally would take that with a very large pinch of salt. What would be interesting would be a side by side table of Safari stats and Mac stats and we would get a real idea if there is much ‘penetration’ outside of the MacWorld.

 thanks for the comments I myself test google chrome but ending uninstalling it because it lacks the firefox X factor and i thought chrome is bloated it eats a disk space of 56mb while ff 3.0.4 eats only 25mb of my space advantage of chrome is only speed aside from that nothing to gain

Are you including the Profile folder?

Well… it’s much faster than Firefox… we can’t deny this…

Safari does not have integration into the windows GUI (its still a Mac interface essentially which sticks out in Windows, especially vista). But its far from useless, its very much a full featured browser.

Adblocker integrated in Iron

The wish of many users comes true: We integrated an Adblocker in Iron!
With a filterlist so nearly all online-advertising can be blocked. A working list can bedownloaded here:
http://www.srware.net/downloads/adblock.ini
and just has to be copied to the Iron folder (e.g: C:\Program Files\SRWare Iron). Note: You must first get the latest version of Iron you can find under “Downloads”: http://www.srware.net/en/software_srware_iron_download.php
So Iron is the first Chromium based webbrowser worldwide which has an adblocker included.
