Safe Mode Boot hangs in AsmRvrt

I’m running XP. I get a blue screen if XP boots normally or it hangs with AsmRvrt.sys as the last entry in Safe Mode.
I am attaching the FRST log as instructed.
Thanks for any help.

What is the exact error on the BSOD?
What SP do you have installed?

What is the exact error on the BSOD?
"A problem has been detected and windows has been shut down to prevent damage to your computer.

A process or thread crucial to system operation has unexpectedly exited or been terminated.

Technical information:
*** STOP: 0x000000F4 (0x00000003,0x893727F0,0x89372964,0x805D22DA)"

What SP do you have installed?
It is XP Media Edition with SP3 and all updates up to about three weeks ago.

I have run all of the Dell built in diagnostics (memory, system, disks) with no errors.
I have the XP install DVD, if that is of any use.

0x000000F4 = hardware problem with the boot device
Run the drive diagnostics tool from the drive manufacturer and let us know the outcome.
