So, Today i decided to do safe mode scans today. So i booted my computer into safe mode ran a malwarebytes full scan which found no viruses but then, when i tried to run avast I had to try multiple times to get it up and when it did start up, I tried running a full scan and when I do so, I get this message for all my scans: ‘unable to start scan.there are no endpoints available from the endpoint mapper’. does anyone know what i should to about this problem? also i should mention that this is only a problem on safe mode. When i tried running a full scan in normal mode, it worked fine without the error

avast doesn’t work in safe mode as far as I know, the closest option to what you’re after is the boot scan.

I run Windows 7 and i have done avast full scans in safe mode before so i do not think that is the problem but thank you for your insight

I’d say avast! service certainly isn’t started automatically in Safe Mode… you can try to start it manually to see if it helps.

I do start it up manually but it takes a few tries to get it working

Malwarebytes is not designed to be run in safe mode as all drivers are not loaded
it will run but is crippled, only use if there is a problem

alright but this does not solve the problem of avast not working in safe mode but thanks for the tip

Its not that I think that there is bad software on my computer, its just that I want to fix the ability to use avast in safe mode in case if i do get something bad

that is what boot scan is made for… if normal scan is not able to remove a infection

Your not listening, avast isn’t meant to be used in safe mode - please use the Boot Scan.
