About the root of the display problem, of course this might be realted to malware, but my bet is on corruption of display drivers using the current display resolution of Normal Mode.

Under Safe Mode, using Device Manager change your display monitor to the default safe built-in monitor of MS Windows, and set it to a low resolution and color deep (nothing more than 1024x768, and I would choose even lower, with 16bit = 65536 colors).

Try to select a default basic graphic card, as you did with the display monitor, instead of the normal device.

Now reboot into Normal Mode TWICE. Is it working? Download the latest stable correct drivers for the correct devices and the correct OS. Install and reboot. Reconfigure the display and reboot again.
