Hi all
It would appear that I have gained a Avast Safe Zone Browser, I didn’t ask for it and it must have been secreted onto my PC in an Avast AV update, which in my view is pretty underhanded
I am not sure what its for or what it does and I am pretty sure that I don’t need it, but I can’t find it in “Program Files” or a way how to get rid of it, if anyone can point out the path to follow to remove it I would be grateful, regards Robert.

It isn’t in the Program Files as it is an integration (module) within the avast program. Previously this has only been included with the paid avast versions.
It can be removed in the same way as other avast modules/functions. Control Panel > Programs and Features > Avast Antivirus > Change - from the next screen select Modify. Now uncheck the SafeZone Browser option
I have read these posts and the latest update was supposed to remove this forced installation. So why does it continue?
Since this is an oldish topic and robert.bev02 didn’t state what avast version (build) he was using there is no way to tell one way or another.
The avast build 11.2.2261 was the one that didn’t install the SafeZone Browser (SZB) on a program update ‘if you had previously removed SZB’ on an earlier version.
If you hadn’t previously removed SZB or did a clean install then the chances are it would be installed if you didn’t do a custom install.
