Sorry, but this SafePrice is entirely useless. Yesterday i was watching some Seiko watch and it said it found a cheaper one. I said great and followed the link. And the link opened up a completelly different, unrelated watch. Of course it was cheaper, it wasn’t even the same model.
Today, i was browsing Steam Store and SafePrice again appeared. Great, it’s cheaper somewhere else. Just to find out if yet again offered me just some game that was not related to what i was looking at in the beginning.
Question here is, what’s the point of SafePrice if it basically offers just some random stuff? I can sit my dog in front of a PC to randomly bash on my keyboard and i’d get pretty much the same results.
I’ve had a similar experience searching for a specific model Laptop.
I was redirected to a cheaper price but for a totally different brand and model.
The nice thing is that it was easy to remove the Safe Price add-on.
When it gets fixed, I’ll be happy to try it again.
Personally I don’t think avast should have offered this feature in the avast! Online Protection add-on.
Not only is the name terrible, or is this something lost in translation as in save verses safe - I can’t see anything safe about this offering. If it is only about save price, then it has no part of the avast! Online Protection add-on, when this add-on is meant to be about browser protection.
Bearing in mind what has already been said about its poor accuracy in offering something cheaper having no resemblance to what was being viewed to what is offered.
I agree with DavidR. The internets are awash in this type of product. They typically ensnare novice users, who don’t know any better.
I’m surprised, to say the least, that it’s included with a security product.
SAFE PRICE =AKA “BLOAT”—Avast just doesn,t seem to get it…with all the nonsense additions it has made to its product, its no wonder people are leaving this AV for something that doesn,t have a lot of extra junk!!..
Time for Avast to sit down at the drawing board and clean up this mess…
